Our NEW Website

We are continually updating and adding to our website to hopefully serve you better.

Throughout 2009, we will be developing a database and e-commerce for our site, again to hopefully serve you even better.

Oscar & LMC

Oscar is currently participating in the 2009 class of Leadership Montgomery County.

NEW Equipment

We are looking into wide format printers with eco-friendly solvent inks

We recently got two new printers, bigger and faster, so we can more quickly and efficiently produce your printing.

NOW we can make signage IN-HOUSE.

All the same options as before, but now we have better control of quality, production time and pricing.

QUESTIONS

What is BLEED?

Bleed is an industry term that most simply means "printing all the way to the edge of the finished piece". Or in other words, "no white margins along the edge of the finished piece". Bleed doesn't imply better, it's simply another choice. Bleed is usually more expensive than No Bleed.

How many EXTRAS do you usually print?
We only print what you order. You will usually get some extra, BUT DON'T COUNT ON IT. So if you need 1000 plus some extra, you should order more than 1000.
Will I be charged a rush fee for same day service?
It depends. Most printing jobs normally take more than a day, so if you request same day service for those jobs, you will be changed a 30% rush fee. But for basic printing jobs that we normally print same day on the fly, like flyers, there is no rush fee. We will always let you know before hand if your request will incur a rush fee.

TIPS

Always ask about price breaks

A price break is a drop in price once you reach a certain quantity. You may only want 100, but what if 250 only costs a little bit more? We usually point this out, but just in case, always ask.

We can design and print Postcards that attract attention.

Postcards are a powerful and inexpensive way to reach your audience. We print all types of Postcards in many sizes and formats.

Postcard or Card?

Literally, a "Postcard" is anything printed on cardstock that is put directly into the mail. If it's not going to be mailed, we like to refer to it simply as "Card".

If you're not going to mail it, then you don't need to leave space for addresses and postage, etc. - that means more room for YOU!

STANDARD

RECYCLED

GLOSSY

12pt - 14pt

SPECIAL

12pt or 14pt is the most popular "thick" paper for this product. Whether we use 12pt or 14pt paper usually depends on what Special Effects are being applied.

Printing on this paper will have a glossy sheen. For a truly glossy finish, request UV Coating, Aqueous Coating, or Lamination. These are Special Effects that often affect production times and often require higher minimum quantities.

Point (pt) is a unit of measure for paper thickness. The bigger the number, the thicker the paper

Our Glossy Paper for this product is 80# cardstock, bright-white, coated on both sides for an ultra smooth finish with a slight sheen.

Printing on this paper will result in a satin finish, NOT a shiney, glossy finish.

Our standard paper for this product is 80# cardstock, bright-white, smooth finish.

We offer a recycled alternative to our Standard Paper. It is pretty much the same in every aspect, except a little bit duller white.

There are also colored, textured and patterned Recycled Papers available (which fall under the "Special Paper" category).

All other paper falls into this category - Colored, Textured, Patterned, Special Order, Customer Supplied, etc.

We stock many varieties.

If we need to special order a paper, you may be required to fullfil a certain minimum quantity.

BLACK PRINTING

1-COLOR or 2-COLOR PRINTING

FULL COLOR PRINTING

SINGLE-SIDED or DOUBLE-SIDED

BLEED or NO BLEED

GLOSSY FINISH

The most basic and least expensive printing option is black ink on white paper.

For a little bit more, you can spruce up your black printing with colored and/or textured paper.

Black-N-White printing does not mean cheap or dull and boring...with good design, it can be amazing.

Bleed is an industry term that most simply means "printing all the way to the edge of the finished piece". Or in other words, "no white margins along the edge of the finished piece".

Bleed doesn't imply better, it's simply another choice. Bleed is usually more expensive than No Bleed.

Clients often request a "glossy" finish, but glossy can be subjective:

Glossy Paper - Glossy paper may produce a glossy finished piece, but not necessarily. It will depend on the print medium and process. Be sure to ask if this is an important aspect of your project. Most toner-based printing, for example, will "cover up" the glossy finish of the paper and therefore produce more of a "satin" finish.

Glossy Print - When printing with ink on a glossy paper, the finished piece will often have a glossy sheen to it, without any special coating.

Glossy Coating - For a truly glossy finish, request UV Coating, Aqueous Coating, or Lamination. These are special processes that often affect production times and often require higher minimum quantities

1-Color and 2-Color printing (also referred to as Spot Color) is usually less expensive than Full Color, but you may be limited to certain "standard" colors like "Reflex Blue" or "Red 485". Or you may have to pay extra for specific ink colors (often refered to as Pantone or PMS Colors).

This option may be the only way to go for exact color matching of certain colors from job to job.

Full Color Printing is the preferred printing option. Full color definitely attracts attention and usually looks the best.

But it is also the most expensive. This option is most cost effective with larger quantities.

You can print on one side or both sides of this product.

You can mix-n-match printing options and bleed options between sides. Some Finishes and Special Effects are not available for both sides. For example, Thermography and Embossing can only be applied to one side of a Double-Sided product.

Double-Sided Printing will cost more than Single-Sided Printing

CUSTOM DIE CUT

For a truly shiney finish to the whole piece, consider UV Coating, Aqueous Coating, or Lamination. Each provide some level of water resistance but lamination also provides tear resistance.

From a unique corner shape to an all-out, one-of-a-kind shape, use a custom die to cut your piece into any shape you want.

Looking for a unique and classy way to spice up your printing? Consider adding a foil-stamped line, logo, or other design element. Gold, silver, and a variety of other colors are available. We can help you choose the right foil or combination of foils as well as the right placement to give your piece the perfect feel.

Add a little something different to your printed materials with rounded corners. Round 1, 2 or all 4 corners.

If you are looking for something to make certain colors, graphics or a logo really stand out, Spot UV is the way to go. UV Coating is a shiney coating. Spot UV is a shiney coating applied to only certaing "spots" of the piece. This presents an amazing contrast to the rest of the piece.

Silk Lamination gives a unique "silky" feel and texture to a printed piece. It portrays class, elegance, style and sophistication. Lamination provides water resistance and tear resistance.

Take your printed material to the third dimension...literally. Raised printing (Thermography) on a flat piece of paper gives your printed projects depth and touchability. Who can resist running their fingers across a raised image.

Add texture and interest to your piece with an Embossed logo or image. Embossed means raised up. Debossed (the opposite of Embossed) means sunkin in. An image can be embossed with print or foil or it can be left blank (Blind Embossed).
